This is the right engagement when you have a creative team that needs senior direction, when you’ve recently lost a Creative Director or VP, when you’re navigating a brand transition or repositioning, or when your agency relationship is failing and you need someone senior enough to fix it.

The Math:

$12K/month is $144K/year. A full-time CD at the same seniority runs $200K+ fully loaded and takes a quarter to ramp. You save $60K–$120K in year one and get output from week one.

Virtually no fractional consultant brings genuine production company experience to this problem. This is the light-touch retainer: I sit over your production spend, review the bids, flag the leaks, and keep your vendors honest — a few days a month, no full-time seat.
